Also, pressure is very low. Then I noticed the water on the floor next to bed. Yep, pump leaking. Looks like these may fail because there's no vibration isolation. Anyway, now we're camping with no water.
Anyone have this hot water issue?
Is this a normal tank style water heater? If so, check that the bypass valve for winterizing isn't opened. Rather obviously, with a tank holding a few gallons, there isn't any way physically speaking for the temperature of the water from the heater itself to vary up and down in a matter of seconds, so it's a problem with the plumbing system somewhere.
(If it's one of those "ten gallon" water heaters that holds six gallons but heats it extra hot and has a thermostatic mixing valve to produce normal hot water at the output, it could conceivably be that thermostatic mixing valve.)
