Took a 1600 mile trip this past week and had a couple things go wrong.
The shield protecting the LPG tank came down while traveling down the highway. The outer screws that hold it all snapped off but the inside bolts remained so it didn't come all the way off and caused for quite the racket at 70mph. I had to pull over on the side of the highway and unscrew the inside bolts and take it completely off to finish our trip.
Spent some time when we got back refastening it this time doubling up on the outside screws. Was an easy job and took maybe 15min using sheet metal screws with bolt heads to provide additional strength.
The rear left valve stem extender for the outer tire came loose and rubbed a hole in the inside tire valve stem extender. This caused the tire to go completely flat. Fortunately, we were already home so Good Sam was called and they sent someone out to fill and check both rear tires for damage. No damage was found but the tech did say they always have problems with extenders so I opted not to have them replaced.
Curious what the general consensus is on valve stem extenders? They sure do make checking tire pressure convenient but if there are lots of problems with them like what I had, a flat tire sure isn't worth the convenience. Maybe a different style can be used that doesn't have the braided line?
Next week, I have an airbag ride system going in on the rear and we're hopeful that it smooths things out...A LOT! I spent some time in the back while the wifey drove this past week and it's so rough, I'm not sure how our kids can stand being back there. At this point, I'm not doing anything with the front shocks since the shop that is installing the bags recommended starting out with the rear to see if it fixes the ride. They mentioned new shocks in the front would likely not help a whole lot.
It's at Ford this week getting the driveline noise fixed along with the slow fill issue resolved.
