Well, mine isn't updated yet. :)
As for how well it's engineered, I'm not an engineer, so it doesn't answer your question, but... After speaking with Lippert techs, reading documentation and crawling all over my coach's slide system, my take is that the system is extremely simple. And if all of the components are installed properly, coach is level when running the system, etc, it seems like it should function fine. Many of the issues I've read about are from catastrophic failures of a particular component where the installation or setup (alignment of various components) was not done properly. There was actually one case on the Palazzo forums where a guy purchased a coach, drove it home, attempted to run the room out, and it died. After several months of back and forth with Thor, posting on forums, etc., he believes that at some point, someone (dealer, driver from the factory, etc) decided to try and extend the slide while a slide lock (brace) was in place, which was believed to have severely tweaked the room. Thus, causing all of the issues.
I realize that its not all user error problems, and especially on full wall slides like mine, the amount of weight that it has to move seems excessive. But assuming that the weight is distributed evenly across the rollers, the gear/track mechanism engagement is setup properly, and so on, it should work just fine. As I mentioned earlier, I had no problems, or any indication that there would even be a problem until I ran the slide out after not using it for a year, without leveling it. I'm not holding my breath that the 3 track setup, along with the other upgraded components will guarantee that this never happens again. But I will keep my fingers crossed!
