Shocks should not affect ride height at all, they are just dampers. If they were coil-overs, it would be different. I also don't understand why they recommended external oil reservoirs, those are usually only needed for extreme conditions, such as high-speed desert racing.
I have noticed the ride improving on my 33SW. I think the springs are really stiff when new, and seem to be getting softer as I accumulate miles. I'm still just under 10,000 miles though, so I'm not exactly a heavy traveler. I often think they could have built these on F450s and ended up with a better ride, I don't think the "house" is all that heavy as to require a F550.
