thousand trails explained

I saw a post a long time ago that describes the different plans.
Can somebody please post this again?
Thanks
BTW I don't care if you like membership's or not I'm just looking for info
  • don't care for the zone pass. If I buy I will buy used. what I'm looking for is the other options
  • One of the things to remember with TT, is you should be able to use your plan for 10+ years (which is probably long enough), not necessarily "forever".

There are really two companies, one (the one you deal with) "owns" the memberships that allow you to camp. The other owns the campgrounds and gives the membership company a long term lease to allow camping. The current agreement is good for about another 15 years. So far they have just kept extending the agreement, but there is no requirement that this continue.

They set it up this way to allow the TT membership company to go bankrupt without effecting the land-holding company. Not that I'm saying this is likely, but it's their business plan to protect the land in a bankruptcy situation.
  • Under zone pass u get to stay for 4 days, and then can go and stay at another park without waiting 14 days. Also there was an offer for 2 zone deal for price of 1. We have northeast and southeast region. Flat has extra 25.00 fee if purchased in fla by phone to home office. We go to pa dutch country, pa in jun and stay 4 then to cape may NJ and stay 14.= 18 in a row.
  • A friend told me yesterday that you can add a friend or family to your acct. as a sub acct.
is this true or does each member require their own membership?
  • Zone passes get you use of parks in a given geographical area - and after so many days of free camping, you then pay by the day. Limit 2 weeks per stay, then a week out of the system before you can go to another or same park.

Used to be a VIP level that gave three weeks per park with no time outs, and you could make reservations 90 days out. No daily fees, so "free" camping all year.

The "Elite" and "Premier" levels give you 3 wks per park, no time outs, and 120 day reservations.

There some other classes available on teh resale market with 150 day reservations.

When buying used (which is highly recommended) it's critical that you verify which parks are included in that particular membership. Depending on when and where the membership was originally purchased, it may grant access to less than the full complement of 1000 Trails parks. And some memberships also include some of the non-TT Encore parks.

As fulltimers, we want the most parks we can get. Our current level includes about 90 parks, including all of the 1000 Trails sub-systems. Some are outstanding resorts, some we wouldn't go back to. Most are about average, but getting better now that the economy has improved.

    Have fun . . .

Well what TT is selling now is the zone pass prograom, You can buy one zone, 2, 3 or all of them. (Nationwide)

This is not the plan I have but basically you pay the basic fee (545 per the web site they are having a sale, not sure if that is the pre-sale price or the sale price) then you get like 30 night free and a few dollars a night after that
