Tightening rearview mirror on a 1999 Rexhall Aerbus

How do I get inside of the driver's side rearview mirror so as to tighten the whole assembly?

  • He may be referring to the glass assembly in the head, as my drivers side is also loose in the housing and vibrates when driving. I have yet found how to get inside to tighten the glass/motor driven assemble inside the housing.
  • I have a similar problem I will defer it till I get home and have more tools. Someone (before me) striped the Allen screw. I have used mall piece of duct tape to keep it from vibrating out of adjustment. So just a heads up and don't over tighten the allen screw.

  • Are you talking about tightening the mirror head, or where the mirror arm attaches to the coach? Most mirrors are Velvac, and the head tightening screw is located on the mirror head, where that attaches to the arm. It is usually a sunken screw that requires an Allen wrench to tighten it. If the issue is arm to the coach, I am not sure.
  • Mirror make and model would be helpful. Our 2000 Aerbus has Velvac model 2025 mirrors (electric movement and heat). If that matched yours, PM me with an email address and I'll send you a PDF of the user manual, which may or may not help.
