Did Bilstein change from a steel casing to an aluminum casing? I don't know how to feel about the change. It looks nicer, but I prioritize durability over appearance. I wonder what road salt will do to the raw aluminum.
To you who have the new raw aluminum Bilsteins and drive in winter salt, how is the aluminum holding up?
I have not yet driven in such conditions but want to know what to expect.
Hmmmmm. If they changed the look of them, I wonder if they changed anything else about the shock. Is this an updated version in more ways than just the looks?
Maybe I should make an effort to find the yellow painted version when I re-attempt to get mine. Not only would I hold a non-painted surface suspect in the elements as well, but I don't want to find out the hard way that the shock was changed in some other way and doesn't work as well as everybody has been saying.
