Nice to see safety laws are catching up, but reversing the main issue here, I see it very often when I enter freeway after rest area stop with my pickup.
The semi-trucks on right lane, seeing me on ramp 1/2 mile in front of them often change the lane to the left.
My pickup with 320HP will accelerate on ramp over 70mph just fine, thank you very much, so the semi never gets closer than 300 ft to me, yet on California freeway the left lane change often creates 2 miles freeway backup.
Some might not know, that when cars here are allowed to 70mph, semis are restricted to 55mph.
