Tire checking frustration

I'm new to this so be kind. But I get so frustrated trying to check my inside rear tires. The valve for the inside tire is on a goofy little bracket that clamps, not very securely, to the wheel with one small screw. It won't stay in place. Every time I check the tires, one or both of them has worked loose, and I have to remove the hub cap and cinch it down again before I can check the pressure. There must be a better way. I would spend money to fix this. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • Another vote for Tireman. That was the best $200 (installed) I have spent on the RV.
  • Here is how I'd handle it:

    1. Take one of the original screws to your local hardware store and by screws with a nylon locking feature such as these:

    2. As mentioned above, put Loctite on the screws and reinsert. Use Loctite Threadlocker Blue 242 on the threads. With this Loctite, you can later remove the screw with normal hand tools. If you use Red Loctite, you'll have to use a heat source to remove the screws.

  • What is needed is a extended valve stem that will let you quickly check your tire pressure. They add no extra weight like the Extenders would and balancing is no problem.
The best on the market, that are the original, are Tire Man any others are Knock offs and of inferior quality.

Chuck is the original designer of these an he has been around for years. If you have any questions just give him a call, he is always happy to help.
The kit looks like This it is for all 6 wheels.
