I will disagree with a lot of others that have posted before me.
the sticker on the door is only be relevant to the OEM tires that was on the unit when it was manufactured, AND loaded within the limits of the GVWR... there are other tires that will have the same specs, but you need to know this before using the tag on the door as the gospel...
different tires can be designed with a different pressure limits, and higher weights will require different pressures than light loads, so go by whats on the tire and if you feel your light load can get by with less than max, never go more than about 20% lower than max pressure, as it will allow the sidewalls to work more than designed, causing heat, which is the enemy of tires.
the max pressure listed on the tire will almost always give the longest wear from the tire, but not always the best ride...
