I've been using the TST system for 5 years now and not one time ever needed teflon tape to seal the sensor threads. You are not putting on lug nuts. They are very, very tiny threads and should only require very slight finger tightening. Do more than that one time and maybe those O-rings do get crushed real bad.
You should NEVER have to use any artificial sealing method with a sensor. Try PressurePro, they are great and the most reliable system I've used.
