Tire pressure extenders and TPMS

I have a Bounder 35K with flexible metal wrapped tire pressure extenders on the inside tires. They come out through a rubber gasket in one of the outside tire rims but get next to the rim on the tire. I have TST 407 sensors which I used on my fifth wheel and would like to use them here. Is there any problem with the flexible extenders and the 407 sensor setting against the tire rim
  • I agree with 10forty2 = get the solid extensions and you will not have any issues. I use the Borg valves and extensions for all the tires.
  • Overall, IMHO, you'd be better off getting some solid dually valve stems that are long enough to reach through the wheels. Best money I've spent so far on tires. No pressure losses in the past 2 years since I installed them! The braided extensions always leaked, no matter how I tightened them or how new they were. I never tried the solid extensions, but there are fail points at every place they screw on to the actual valve. I still check pressures before each flight, and I have not had to add air since getting the solid valve stems. I suspect the TPMS will work better on the solid stems too. I haven't re-installed my TST yet, but will do so this season.
  • The only thing you will notice is that the temperature readings will not be accurate for extenders out in the wind, compared to sensors mounted right on the tire valve.
  • I hav a tst statement 97 34vbounder. I use theextensions and flow thru sensors on all 8 wheels not oneproblem in3 yrs.
