As best I can tell (I asked TST but never got an answer), the system can lose communication for up to an hour before it ever reports a lost signal.
The external sensors may be good, but my internal ones would have already been sent back if they were not so difficult to remove.
I also had this problems. I e-mailed TST and found that my booster was not the correct one for my 507 system. They sent me a new booster as an exchange for my old one and my system now works just fine.
I would find their number on their web site and give them a call. They have always been very receptive when I had a problem.
