The flow-thru sensors are newer than the cap sensors, so I'd expect there will be many more cap users. The flow-thru sensors do stick out further than the caps, and especially on a toad or smaller TT wheel, can be subject to curb scrub damage. The cap sensors don't take much longer to remove for airing up than a standard valve cap.
