That is not safe.
Set them to the recommended pressure +/- 2 psi when "cold" (that is after sitting overnight)and then don't worry if some go up a bit more than the others.
YOU SHOULD NEVER RELEASE AIR FROM A HOT TIRE.....unless maybe you suddenly realize that you put way too much in to start with.
I assumed (and would hope) fredandkthy was referring to checking them when cold, not after running.
