tire replacement

needing to replace Class "A" Michelin 235/80R/22.5 MRV tires. looking at the Hankook tires because of price difference. Size is 255/70r or 75r/22.5. Need input on what others have experienced with the tire or recommendations on a quality tire for MH. motor-home is Winnebago 35z Adventurer, 26000# with V10 engine. we are full timing, with stays from 15-60 days at a time. Probably 12,000 miles max a year. driving the speeds on the highway. if 70mph driving 70mph---staying with traffic.

confused on what is the best 22.5 rv tire for the money.
  • You really should look at Toyo's. I think the quality is same or better, I believe the ride is much better. Look for a mobile guy that works with dealerships for the best deals, they usually don't have a store front so their cost is lower.
  • If you do a search for Hankook on this forum you will get a lot of posts. Hankook has been making inroads into the U.S. market and has provided good products. Ford has been using Hankooks on F150 trucks for several years. The dealer who installed mine last week deals in tires for autos, light, medium, and heavy trucks, as well as RVs. They are a dealer for all Major brands of tires. Upon making my request for replacing my Goodyear GV670 they immediately suggested the Hankook AH11 versus the G670 unless I was determined to spend more money for the Goodyears and still not get a better tire.
Of course time will tell if I made the right choice, but taking into account what other Hankook owners have experienced I think it was a good choice.

  • Been using the Hankook tires on both our motorhome(AH series) and our truck(DynaPro series) for years. IMO, you can't find a better tire for the price. Definitely better than either the Goodyear or Michelin RV tires.
  • I put the Hankook 255/70 ah12 on my DP 35000 miles ago.

I am very satisfied with them, have to add air maybe once a year to the amount of 2-3 lbs.

I too went with them because of price and availabilty.
    Good luck
