Yep: fill your tires to the "correct" pressure. When on the road and you stop, say, after a couiple hundred miles or so, aim your IR thermometer (available at, for instance, Sears) and take the temps of all the tires. If one is really hotter than the others, that tire might be a problem.
I find that the duallys just behind the exhaust pipe are always just a bit hotter than the others...I think is caused by the hot exhaust gasses hitting them.
Personally, every time I stop...for gas, food, rest, whatever, I do a "walk-around" to check things out, especially the toad hookup, and taking the temps of the tires are simply part of it.
