Tire Temps
Thought I would start a new thread on this..
My TPMS also shows tire temps. Tire temps while towing today (in *F):
LF 107
LR 107
RF 120
RR 113
Ambient temp 71* and towing 70 mph.
This is a brand new set of LT225-75-16E tires. I had some dry rot on the old set and on further inspection some out-of-round and pending tread separation on the RF tire. Possible that higher tire temps while towing indicate overloading?
This was my first trip with these brand new tires. Are these temp differences meaningful?
According to my last trip to the scales, The trailer is 8500 lbs total, 1200 on the tongue and 7300 on the axles. Since the tires are rated at 2680 lbs each at 80psi, I run them at 75 psi, making their max load 2560 according to the inflation table. 2560*4= 10,240 so I am running at less than 75% of tire capacity.
The right side is where the kitchen is and some heavy items are loaded there, including case of water, case of beer, etc.
Thoughts?
