I just purchased 6 new Michelins XRV's (this tire meets my RV needs) thru the Michelin Tire Advantage Program, after being on backorder for 3 weeks they arrived from South Carolina. And, I had them installed new stems and new extensions and balanced last Wednesday. And, I beg to differ with a previous poster that claimed there is no or very little value using the Michelin Advantage Tire Program through FMCA! I was quoted $506.00 per tire through a local dealer and I purchased my tires for $378.00 per tire through the FMCA, that's a big savings to me ($128.00 per tire, X-6 tires)! I used the Michelin Quality Care Program to the letter for maintenance (did everything there website suggested) and I was able to get 10 years out of my tires. DOT date stamp was Oct. 03. My new DOT date stamp is May 13. I ask about tire quality (who makes the tire with strongest side walls for a tire to be recapped) I was told Michelin, Bridgestone and Goodyear other tires just don't hold up as well for recapping! I asked if my old RV tires looking near new would go out for recapping being 10 years old and he told me no! That my tires were junk, because they send no casings out to be recapped that are over 6 years old due to they just don't hold up. They sent them out before over 6 years old and it wasn't cost effective for them. I chose XRV's due to there softness (#1 soft tire on the market) and that's what my RV needs due to the sitting that my occurs. My coach sits for 6 months in the warm Arizona sun during the winter, and gets lots of miles during the summer. The tire guy told me I did very well taking care of my tires. I thanked him and told him I hope to see him in 10 years. Good Luck and success with your new tires!
