Toad charge line

On the way back from our last trip the battery in our 2013 C-Max died after about five hours. We do have a 12V charge line installed. I checked the inline 10 amp fuse and found it blown. This morning my son and I used the volt meter to check the line the results were:

1. 14 volts from MH 7 pin.
2. 14 volts through 6 pin to car.
3. 2.4 volts through charge line to car battery.

This car has been towed all over in this configuration without and issue. Any ideas?

If I was doing the install I would have put a fuse between the toad battery and the MH connector. You might trace out the line and look for another blown fuse.
I would also check the charge line for a possible scrape causing it to go to ground in the toad.

Fuse that blew is between MH and battery.
  • Make sure you have a good ground line back to the MH from the toad.
    Blessings kdk
