Toad or No Toad

We are coming out of a truck camper to a 26 1/2 Rear Bath Lazy Daze class C. Do seasoned class C owners in a comparable size feel it is worth towing a vehicle if you are only sitting in one place for just 3/5 days at a time? Opinions please.

  • Seems like not having the ability to make day trips/quick runs into town would take some fun out of RVing. Yes, more expensive but most of us aren't RVing to be cost effective. I haven't seen car rental outfits on the Eastern Sierras.
  • With a 32' class C, I've yet to pull a toad or particularly have any desire to do so. A lot depends on what you like to do and where you are doing it, of course. If you can get public transportation or ride a bicycle to wherever you need to go, it's a lot easier to be without a toad than otherwise. (I also tend to not spend a long time at any one campground most of the time.)
  • Hi,

I don't pull a toad. Cheaper to rent if another vehicle is needed. I do full time.
  • I you're just planning on staying in a campground for 3-5 days and use their amenities, then you don't need a toad. Otherwise, what Second Chance said.

Am I the only one that does not know what a rocky is?
  • We have several friends in the Escapees RV club who are Lazy Daze owners. They all pull a tow'd. When they go someplace, they don't want to have to unhook the Lazy Daze to go into town or sight-see (which can also pose issues with parking, etc.)
