Many RV's with or without toilets have/had only one tank. I agree with lzasitko that the P traps will keep the smell out. Many newer RV's share gray water and black water as in my Four Winds. The toilet and bathroom sink use the same tank. I learned quickly to add water to the P trap if I start to smell the black tank.
