After reading all the rigmarole tow dolly people have to go through and having watched them in campgrounds and then they say they have no problems? They have never enjoyed the ease and simplicity of four down towing. Know that it is so much easier than a tow dolly!
That is fine if we had a vehicle that is four down towable. Ours is front wheel drive and only 1 1/2 years old, so tow dolly is our only option right now.
I hear you I had 4 veiacals that could not be towed 4 down. I used a Acme dolly and once you get use to it isn't that bad. When you load the dolly leave about an 1-2 inch gap from the front rail. They tell you to be agents it but hear is the reason to leave a gap. When you are tightening the straps they won't slide on the tier. If you leave a gap and the car is not in park (put it back in park after) the tier will rotate forward taking the slack out of the back of the strap behind the tier where it hooks onto the dolly. If you don't do it this way the straps will be loose next time you check them. It drove me crazy till I found that simple step. One other thing tie the ends of the straps so they don't flop in the wind as they will fray and be hard to use.
Any other questions just ask.
