X2 what DSDP Don and Kayteg1 said. My 1998 Tracker with mechanical odometer did. My 2006 HHR with digital odometer does not.

1996 Ford Contour...5 speed stick, 2007 Chevy HHR, automatic, 2011 Ford Ranger, 4WD automatic....all of these "toads" past and present, none registered mileage while being towed 4-down.

My 2014 Honda CR-V, 2008 Mini and 2011 Ford Ranger all do not accumulate mileage while being towed.

My 2008 Saturn Vue Does not reg,All four down.

Depends on the brand, the digital odometer started about 1995 and typically those don't register mileage unless ignition is on.
Some brands continued mechanical odometer till 2005, so YMMV.
Than some manufacturers do have N for transfer case that will not register mileage, but that becomes very techincal and you'd have to contact manufacturer to get firm answer.

Typically, most of your cars built in the last 15 years use electronics to sense mileage and will not when towing. It was your older cars that use to use a mechanical cable attached to the transmission that showed mileage. Those systems have been gone for years.

Our 2004 Jeep Liberty doesn't accumulate miles.

My 06 Chevy Trailblazer does not register miles when towed.

My Jeep wrangler does if I use the brake buddy and need the key turned for 12V power. I need to run a12V off the coach.

"IF" you have done your work correctly, your towed should never show any additional miles while being towed.
