DG tailgate supports work well for me. (1000 lbs. RZR with both tires completely on the tailgate)
Airbags will make up for the 1.5" of rear end sag.
Can't help with the lights. I am trying to do the same with my 2015 F-150 but am getting mixed answers on how to wire the new led taillights which I would imagine your new chevy has. My 2004 chevy has a Hopkins towing solutions plug and play that works great but not sure if one is available for a 2016.
