I towed my 2012 Silverado with a RZR 800 in the bed. I used the DG tailgate support and added air bags to rear. Once loaded, I leveled the truck and it towed well.
Since you have to disconnect the battery on the truck to tow it, you'd be best served to use the diode kit for wiring in your taillights. Here is the kit I just installed in my 2016 GMC Canyon, from E-Trailer. It's really easy....cut the leads to the OEM lights, solder or use quick connects to reattach to the E-Trailer kit and you're done. All the diodes are in the single box that comes with the kit. There is enough wire to reach both sides and to the front of the truck. Very simple install.
