TOWING RANGER 4 WD

I have a 1999 Ford Ranger and need to tow it to Mt. Home Ar. to go fishing. It is 4 wd with auto hubs in frt. Can I remove the drive shaft from rear and tow this vehicle 4 wheels down.

    Do you have a transfer case with a selectable neutral position? If yes, just put it in neutral. If no selectable neutral on the transfer case, removing the rear drive shaft will probably work. I did just that with my 2000 Tundra and pulled it about 2500 miles with no ill effects.
