You could make an extension out of sun screen which is available in HD, etc. Or if you're handy make the entire screen to fit your rig.

My 04 CRV would require the screen to be under the tow bar in order to protect the lower portion of the radiator. And on the next trip to Alaska that is what I'll do. I have a drop up hitch since the rig is lower than the CRV. As a result the extended Protect A Tow won't be long enough. If needed my extension would be a separate piece of sun screen.
