Towing with E450

We are considering getting a Class C and I wonder about towing our 2012 Chev Equinox with an E450 chassis. I know about checking for GCWR vs GVWR difference. My question has to do with the ability of a V-10 engine with 405 ft-lb of torque to pull the combination up western mountain grades. The Equinox weighs 4040 lbs as normally towed.

We are downsizing from a 2012 Phaeton QTH, and that rig never hesitates when pulling the grades.
  • I tow a 4-runner a little heavier. Mine does fine and either stays with or goes around the DP's in the west to the 5000-6000'. At 8000' pass's its down to a slower go but it makes it fine. 31' 450 2004 4 speed, 5-6 speeds should be better and I do run the 5 Star Tune, give an xtra 40HP and 40# torque.
