Towing with Winnebago View or Itasca Navion

Just dreaming... The 2015 Winnebago Views and Itasca Navions looks pretty nice. Small, but tons of features and a V6 diesel with a 5,000# hitch. So my question is, how well do they do at towing a TOAD? I currently have a class A gasser with a V10, and I can tow my 2007 Ford Edge without hardly knowing it's behind me other than a little drop in MPG. Part of the fun of a smaller MH like the View is getting around with it, but I assume we'd want to bring a car sometimes.
  • we have a 13view24g and tow a jeep wrangler 03 no problem
  • I pull a cargo trailer or a 2000 Tracker (or nothing). We pulled the toad on a month long tour of western states and national parks. This included running the Utah 12 Hogsback. No worries. We were very glad we had it with us. We put 100 miles on it in 1 day at Yellowstone and having a 4x4 was nice for rough terrain.
  • I have a 2015 View Profile and tow a 2014 Subaru Crosstrek with mine. It tows it just fine with no problems. I have pulled some pretty good hills and the View does pretty good. On quite a few I can stay in 5th and go on up and if it starts slowing down I just drop it to 4th and it holds speed then at around 55 to 60. A coupe of times I had to run up them in 3rd on some that I really couldn't get a run at the bottom because of a corner or just pulling out of a town and they change the speed limit back up when you are part way up the hill.

ON EDIT: You might want to read this thread on towing with the MB
  • Suggest you join the View/Navion groups over on Yahoo groups. Literally thousands of owners there to get the information from....
  • well we have the 5cyc diesel on a 2007 LTV about the same as a view ,I pull a 18ft boat, and my kid pulls a box trailer with the golf cart and a ton of dog equipt , pulls great , my mpg does drop from 20mpg to 17teen mpg.with the right hookup you,d not know it was back there.
