Okay I got your email and it doesn't change the advice I have given. Since I have your permission I'll post the relevant parts again.
Here is your question to Lt. Frost of the Florida Highway Patrol:
Is an automobile towed behind a Class A motor home considered a trailer, which must have supplemental braking and a break away safety switch, or does it have some other classification that DOES NOT require a supplemental braking system.
And now here is his entire answer:
A vehicle towed behind a motor home would be exempt from the braking requirements in Florida statute 316.261 as a drive away, tow away operation. Please contact me if you have any other questions.
So just like I've already said, technically his answer is correct, it's just not complete. No where does Lt. Frost say you don't have to comply with 316.262. He just says you have a special classification under that exemption in 316.261. And in fact vehicles that have that special exemption are exempt from the braking requirements of 316.261, as long as their brakes meet the performance requirements in 316.262. Lt. Frost was negligent in not pointing that out to you and making it clear.
