I agree that the 7 pin plug on the motorhome is wired in correctly. Use a 12 volt test light and check the plug with an assistant operating the lights, brakes and turn signals.
The brake lights pin should only operate the brake lights on the trailer. As was said earlier the blue brake controller wire only controls the electric brakes on the trailer.
You need a brake control to operate the trailers brakes. I use Prodigy's remote brake controller and it works great and I can switch it between vehicles.
