- msmith1199Explorer IIThe reason more of these oversized rigs don't get tickets is because it's just not a priority among law enforcement. Doesn't mean it's legal, just means it hasn't caused a huge issue so it's largely ignored by law enforcement.

"Most States allow triple tow"? I don't think so---doubles maybe but not many allow triples. At least back East.
NC raised the length after a few Troopers and Sheriff deputies started making a living off of racers. Here racers includes NASCAR which is one of the largest contributors to the State economy so we do have some clout---got the law changed. Sorry Barney Fife
Not the troopers fault, they just enforce the law they don't write it. - GlennLeverExplorer

Triple tow is also knowing as double tow to some, triple means the puller and 2 trailers, such as motorhome, jeep and small boat trailer as my setup, 3 all together in the chain. - mena661Explorer

I don't want them that close! :) And thanks.
I was watching a rerun of Extreme RVs the other night and one family had an RV that the back of it was a horse stall. Not sure I like horses that much.

So than maybe its because your just towing 1 trailer instead of 2 that gets you by, I would like to tow my canoe on trailer behind my Jeep that is being towed by my motorhome, maybe its the triple tow that gets the attention of the cops and not so much the length ??
Not sure, but I do not think so.

He is using a commercial style puller and I bet he has CDL licenses with over 75ft length endorsement to boot, with that you can triple pull over length in just about any state.
I would not try that on a standard motorhome with basic license.
A couple of thoughts
If it was a commercial vehicle you would have to have an over size permit issued from the state.
The RV is on a commercial truck chassis, but built and registered as an RV.
Having a CDL does not mean you can drive an over length vehicle.
Some states do have an RV endorsement.
I have a double and triple endorsement on my CDL but that does not mean you can drive over length, a permit tied to the vehicle is required. If that is done the state tells you what roads you can take and at what time. Not the case here.
