Tranfers switch

I thought generator was secondary (normally open) as the switch has a delay for the generator to get up to speed.

Default for my coach is the generator and if voltage from a cord drops it will switch. Had intermittent voltage drop in a campground once and my transfer box was switching back and forth.

Think you have it backward, default is Gen, when you plugin the transfer switch makes the noise. And then the electrons flow.

The transfer switch is in the normally closed position to shore power. It makes no difference what the voltage is. The transfer switch should not be trying to switch unless it sees voltage from the generator.
Are you sure it was the transfer switch clicking?

switch it too LP, maybe you have enough voltage, you can keep the batteries charged

should only be drawing 3-4amps for the fridge heating element

what else in the house is on that same circuit, the cord is plugged into

did you use 16ga cord ?

a good 12ga cord should allow things to work

There's too much drop in your drop cord.

What drwwicks says. It basically means that you're trying to draw too much from that long of a cord.

Anyway you can move the RV closer to the outlet?

Is the electric water heater off? Are the batteries charged?

Up to a point, the bigger the pipe, the better the service.
