This discussion prompted me to start looking for a transmission cooler for us in the event we decided on a trailer.
Today I went out and had a look, and guess what? Our unit already has a transmission cooler (apparently OEM). Its in front of the radiator, on the left, with its own fan.
Part of my search involved finding the correct transmission fluid, since it seemed like a good idea that if a transmission cooler was installed, it would be a good time to change the fluid, which normally is scheduled to change at 80K miles. Does anyone have the correct M-B spec number on that fluid?
Its the M-B Spec 236.14. See the spec at: http://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/bevolisten/236.14_en.html
These are available at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Mobil-112980-CASE-Synthetic-Automatic-Transmission/dp/B009IE2R0U/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1392607978&sr=8-4&keywords=Mobil+ATF+134
