PawPaw--Thank you so much for your reply and the advice you gave me. When I see the mileage calculations you did, the venture became even more daunting. One question I have ...Do you or anyone know of someone who has done this? I was hoping to be able to find another RV-er with my same aspirations, or even somebody who made the trip motel to motel while driving a reliable comfortable SUV or whatever. Airplane hopping from track is over my budget and I would miss out on the sightseeing portion of the excursion. To modify my trip, maybe skipping some of the tracks I have been to makes more sense. Anyway, thanks again to you and others who have or will still weigh in.
The race teams use a motel booking service that pre books large portions of the motels nearest the track for the crews. It can be disappointing to
start checking for a room and they are all full. Portions of the rooms are still available but require proper planning ahead. It's not uncommon to
have to travel a little to find something. Your idea is all do-able but requires you to stay on top of your plans and have a back up plan as well.
I was fortunate to be able to use the teams service so it worked out well. Last minute friends would often find themselves on the other side of town
even in venues as large as Vegas. I slept in the transporter more than once because of my room being mysteriously given away. Low guy on the
totem pole. Seeing there are forums for everything these days i am sure there is one for NASCAR fans out there who do this .Best of luck
