Stop in Arkansas and ride the Pig Trail. Find a good camping spot around Conway or Russellville, Arkansas and spend several days on the roads headed to State Parks and historic Ozark towns.
There are many State Parks with camping as well as Army Corps of Engineer parks, big chain rv parks, as well as private.
You won't be too far away from Branson, MO and there is enough to see and do in Branson to consume much of your travel funds. :)
