How big of a bike? Are we talking dual sport, adventure, naked, sport, sport touring or a big old tourer? Size does matter!
Same for RV.
If you go with a hitch hauler you can find them to support the weight but with the leverage + weight it might not be a good idea.
If you've got a trailer you're stuck with a pull-through site most of the time . . . . or dropping the trailer.
If it was meeeee . . . . . . a DL650 (weestrom) would be enough for highway speeds yet agile enough for dirt / gravel roads and yet light enough to load on a hitch hauler.
