Cat probably doesn't much care whether the crate is in the back seat of a truck or the back of the van. You just need to figure out where you want to put the litter box.
You are already way ahead, the cat has adjusted to travel, has identified a territory that moves around within a larger realm. Cats tend to be territorial, some do not adjust to moving, or to such a small space. I think yours will be OK once the whole van becomes identified as the cat's realm.
The adjustment is more yours than the cat's. The cat will own the van. You just have to figure out where you want to put the litter box.
