Trip Denver,Co to San diego with a stop in Las vegas

I have been considering a trip from Denver to San Diego with a stop in Las Vegas. Sept, Oct time frame. I'm going Albq.(40),Phnx(17),101)
(family in Phoenix). Coming back Good Sam recommends up thru Barstow, Baker Paradise. Not at all familiar with Calif country. How would that route be? Taffic wise, mountains desert???

    From San Diego, you will take the 15 north to the 215 which will put you back on the 15 north to Las Vegas. It's a very nice route, we have done it many times from Palm Springs, CA.

    And yes, Good Sam's has it right, you will go through Barstow/Baker, etc. on the 15 north.

    The route from LV to Denver is beautiful going through Utah. Did you know CO is rather hilly? LOL!

    The Las Vegas Motorcoach Resort is the best place to stay if you want an upscale type place in LV. They have security and it's a beautiful park and only about 4 miles to Mandalay Bay on the strip.
