I use
Streets & Trips to plan out our trips. It has routing features, Points of interest, options for speed, type of route, etc, daily start & stop times, and many other features. It's only $34.95 for a download from
AmazonI first use the start and end points to get an overall suggested route. Then you can alter the route by adding places, or dragging the route on the screen.
I use the daily stop time markers and the "find nearby places" to find possible campsites to research. I also use the "find nearby places" to locate rest stops and fuel stops on each segment of the map.
Once the route is planned out, the laptop goes on the dash of the motor home in front of DW, (aka navigator) with a
GPS dongle attached, to use as a GPS route guide.
It takes a little time to learn all the features, but the basics are there as soon as you boot it up.
The more you use it, the more it works for you.
