Triton V10 oil level

I heard the story of a widow who brought her car in because it wouldn't go over about 30 mph. The mechanic couldn't get the engine to rev, and when he finally just opened the throttle wide open, the car struggled for about 20 seconds then the PCV valve blew out and a stream of oil followed. She had seen her husband add oil periodically, so every time she filled up the tank, she added a quart of oil.

I'm not sure it's true, but it makes for a good story.
