To the OP I towed a Ford Probe at 2800#. I had to use a drop receiver to get my tow bar in level plane. Worked for 5 years, however, many times I would bottom out the tow system. I saw a few placed where the Offset bracket made contact with the ground. I bought a new jeep Wangler this year as a tow. I just felt is this contact with the ground keep up I would find my tow plate or the tow hitch laying on the ground some day. I tried coming in on angle, but some times that did not help either.
