I replaced the one on our dash in our 99 Hurricane. I was thinking about doing some type of cabinet like you said. Turned out that installing the new one was easy, and when complete, it looked like a custom install. (which it was). Here is a link to some pictures, if you have difficulty seeing them, let me know. I also had to replace the 27" overhead monster in our current coach. Had to get a couple of neighbors to help me get the 90' monster out. Then had to pay $15 to dump it.
