Here is my post when I tore down the Fuel pump .

It is not a hard job, but you do need space under the unit and a suitable jack. Even after emptying the fuel down to a quarter tank using the genny pickup, it will still contain 15-20 gallons. There is quite a reserve when the gauge shows empty....
