Update on My Bay Door Paint Repair

I had minor damage to one of our bay doors and I really wanted it fixed soon. Being that we were in Tucson, AZ for the winter and right smack dab in the middle of numerous large RV dealers, what a better time to get it fixed. It had a minor dent and about an 12 inch scratch. Lazydays was right next door so I called them first for an estimate and this is exactly how it went. It was a Wednesday, I called the paint shop three times and got the answering machine all three times. Once I hung up, twice I left messages. Thursday I finally got a call from the shop foreman and he apologized for delay saying he had been out on a medical. Hey, I understand, no problem. I told him what I needed and he said he would stop by on Friday for an estimate. Friday, no estimate, no phone calls, nothing. I called him, no answers, just answering machines. Monday, still nothing. I did eventually ask for a supervisor but that's another story. I will never use Lazydays and I spoke with many people at the RV park who were there for service who were also very upset with Lazydays.
La Mesa said they would send someone over for an estimate and they did, the problem was that it was very high, much more than I anticipated.
We were about to head to Texas so I called Texas Custom Coach and they were wonderful. I was told to let them know when we were on our way and they would work us in. We arrive at Texas Custom Coach and were greeted by the nicest people. They parked us right in front of one of their large shops and we got hooked to water and 50 amp electricity, as we got to stay on the property while they worked on it. Literally within ten minutes of our parking, a tech started working on the door! We were there for three days, the paint job is spectacular, the price was way more than reasonable and the people could not be nicer. I would drive back there anytime for any work I needed done and I highly recommend them. I looked at some of their other repairs and modification projects they do and it is impressive.

  • Got to go where they have the equipment and personnel and do this kind of thing.
Lazy Days wants to sell them not so much on service or repairs unless it is to install something you purchased from them.
glad you found that place. A lot, of others may have need of their services.
  • I purchased my FW last year from Lazy Days. I received great service from the sales and finance department. However, I experienced less than satisfactory support from the service department. They routinely fail to return phone calls and e-mails. They lied about when a job would be done. They damaged my rig while they were working on it, and tried to hide the damage. They performed shoddy repairs that I had to fix myself. I finally had to send my FW back to the manufacturer to get it fixed correctly and to repair the damage that Lazy Days caused.

I will never take my rig back to them, and I'll never purchase from them again.

  • Wow it's good to know that there are still folks that will do an honest job at a fair price. I've not dealt with Lazy Days but have dealt with other companies where it seems you have to beg them to talk to you...at least you found out before you had them do the work.
