Did you have the Tow/Haul button, ya know that little button on the dash, engaged? I cannot see it lit on your picture of the dash. I have read on a Chevy forum that when it is engaged while towing or climbing it changes the shift points and keeps the trans cooler thus helping with overall cooling. That I all I got.:)

I didn't have the tow/haul mode turned on. I also see where it locks the torque converter in all gears but first to help keep the torque converter from generating excessive amounts of heat. I'm wanting to try it to see what happens. Hmmmm.
