Well it looks like scroller may have blowen my theory out of the water.
After looking at
this thread I could find only 1 post about over heating.
I too would like to know what the out come is, and the fix.
In passing, I used to have a Class A with a 454 and towed a trailer with all the toys that weighed 5500lbs loaded. It never overheated while towing to the high desert, while a friend had a class C with the same motor that would overheat, our mechanic, a very good one,
who said that he always had complaints about the Cs but not the Class A.
He did everything to solve the overheating problem as everyone has suggested here. From coolant to bigger radiator and all that. And concluded that it was the nature of the beast, being that the Class A had a much more open engine compartment as mine did and the Class C did not and could not dissipate the heat as well. I know that he was very frustrated that after all the fixes that he tried nothing seemed to work to his satisfaction. Good luck and I will be watching to see the outcome, I don't tow but may some day.
