US gear towing brake beeping

I have a us gear braking system with blue ox tow bars.... the last few months the us gear box has been beeping off and on for a few seconds then stops.... I've checked all connections... it seemed to start after a long rain a few months ago...

we have the same setup. it's definitely a connectivity problem but those are not limited to the connections on your toad or MH. could also be in the umbilical cable. we had the identical problem last spring and I finally traced the problem to a loose ground wire on the controller on the MH dashboard...the device where you can set the amount of braking force on the toad.

    good luck.
  • Years ago (still use the same system) ours did the same thing. A faulty connection to the toad's umbilical connection was the culprit. Replaced both connectors (toad and mh) and replaced the umbilical cable. No more beeping.

There is often one connection on that system which is a tad anemic and that is the vehicle ground.

US-Gear does not have a ground lead.. Just a battery charge (Red) and a sense/control (Blue) (the wire does both jobs) Beepign indicates an issue with the BLUE wire but that issue may be a bad ground.
