I don't know why people always want compare a diesel motorhome to a tractor. Tractors don't have air suspensions, air dryers, air bags, air brakes, etc.
What I'm saying is, why spend the money on a diesel if you aren't going to drive it? It's not that it won't start from sitting but a diesel likes to be driven. Diesels are more sensitive to water in the fuel and maintenance is a little more.
Honestly, if I were going to be sitting in one place for a long time, the floor-plan would be paramount. I would think a 5th wheel might work best as they can be high end on the inside as I toured one recently and was impressed.
